2012 Committee Roster
Purpose & Objectives
Based upon the mission and objectives of CAI, the Membership Committee organizes and manages CAI - Oregon Chapter membership efforts. This work includes recruitment of new members, welcoming of new members, promotion of membership benefits, and retention of existing members.
Responsibilities
- Welcome new members into the organization and provide them with information and the means to take an active part in the organization.
- Contact members who are nearing the time of their renewal to encourage them to renew their membership.
- Contact members whose membership lapses, to remind them of the value and benefits of their CAI Membership.
- Identify and contact vendors who would be good candidates for membership in CAI.
- Work with Management Companies to encourage the membership of their managers and of board members from Associations they manage.
- Work in conjunction with the Marketing Committee and CAI National to reach out to homeowners and Community Association Volunteers to encourage membership in CAI.
- Make presentations to Associations and/or their Boards regarding the value and benefits of membership in CAI.
2012 Goals
Increase the current membership in CAI Oregon by recruiting 30 new members. This will be done by:

Expansion of the Scholarship Program to 10 HOAs that need CAI services but are in financial stress.

Extend the Community Manager Coach program to 10 Habitat community associations.

Implementing a Direct Mail program to reach self-managed HOA's in Oregon.

Using information from Title Companies on recent closings in Homeowner Associations and send this information to CAI National for mailings to new homeowners.
- Encourage members of CAI-Oregon to recruit new members via recruiter awards quarterly for both Portland and CORC areas, and implement a yearly "Recruiter of the Year" award.
- Working in conjunction with the Education and Marketing Committees, provide timely notice of upcoming CAI events to HOA Managers and encourage them to forward these materials to their board members.
- Provide information to managers on the value of CAI Membership, involvement in CAI, and encourage them to take advantage of CAI Manager Breakfasts, M-100 course,M-200 level courses, and help Managers realize the value to their career involvement and participation in CAI brings to their professional development.
- Provide a "Membership Presence" at all CAI events, to encourage new memberships and welcome new members.
- Provide a "New Member Welcome Event" to welcome new members to CAI and encourage their active involvement in the organization.
