The Art of Self-Sabotage: Helping HOAs and Condominiums Navigate Insurance Claims

This educational program will explore common mistakes community associations make before and during the insurance claims process that can complicate or jeopardize an otherwise valid claim. Topics will include documenting property damage, communicating with insurance carriers, navigating inspections and repair estimates, preserving evidence, understanding the difference between the cause of a loss and the resulting damage, and recognizing potential red flags during the claims process.

The program will provide practical guidance for community association managers and HOA and condominium board members on steps they can take—and mistakes they should avoid—to protect their association’s interests and improve its position when handling significant insurance claims.
