Protecting Oregon Community Associations Through Advocacy

The Oregon Legislative Action Committee (LAC) is the advocacy arm of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) in Oregon and serves as the collective voice for the more than 585,000 Oregonians living in community associations.

Our mission is to monitor, evaluate, and influence legislation and regulatory issues that impact homeowners associations, condominium associations, community managers, and the professionals who support them. We work to ensure lawmakers understand the unique needs of community associations and the effects legislation can have on homeowners and communities across Oregon.

The Oregon LAC is made up of dedicated volunteers representing homeowner leaders, community managers, attorneys, and business partners who work together to review legislation, engage with policymakers, and advocate for balanced solutions that support strong and sustainable communities.

Advocacy is more than tracking bills. It is about protecting communities, educating decision-makers, and ensuring the voices of Oregon's community associations are heard.

What is the Oregon Legislative Action Committee?

The Oregon Legislative Action Committee is a volunteer-led committee dedicated to monitoring legislation and advocating for policies that support effective community association governance throughout Oregon.

The LAC serves as a resource for legislators, homeowners, community managers, attorneys, business partners, and volunteer board members by providing education and insight regarding proposed legislation affecting common-interest communities.
